Recognised with a Certificate of Appreciation for environmental sustainability, Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra proudly donated 26,949 kg of food waste from January to October 2025. This milestone reflects the hotel’s ongoing commitment to responsible practices and waste reduction.

Food waste is also recycled as fertilizer, supporting circular economy principles and reducing landfill impact.

Every Wednesday, the Heartist Canteen observes “No Bin Day” — an initiative that encourages mindful consumption and creative reuse of ingredients. Through this effort, food waste is minimized, and team members are inspired to make conscious choices each day.

In September 2025, these collective actions led to a 12% reduction in food waste ratio, driven by thoughtful portioning and stronger engagement with our Heartists.

Aligned with Sofitel and MGallery’s sustainability vision, this initiative represents our shared dedication to a future where luxury hospitality coexists harmoniously with care for the planet.
