Creating Opportunities, Building Futures

At Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, we believe that true hospitality begins with care — for our guests, our community, and the next generation of Cambodian talents. Through education and training, we open doors to opportunity, empowering young individuals to shape meaningful careers in hospitality.

Our journey began with a simple belief: that every young person deserves the chance to learn, grow, and shine. Over the years, we have built lasting partnerships with hospitality schools and NGOs including Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE), Project Khmer H.O.P.E, École Paul Dubrule, Meth Samlanh, and Spoon Cambodia, as well as international institutions such as Les Roches School in Switzerland, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Through internship programmes, cross-training, and leadership development initiatives, we provide hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for the real world of hospitality. From 2020 to 2025, hundreds of students have completed their internships at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra — many of whom have since joined our team as full-time Heartists, continuing their journey with pride and purpose.

In 2021, we celebrated students from PSE and the Academy of Culinary Arts of Cambodia who successfully completed six-month internships across departments such as Front Office, F&B, Engineering, and Culinary. The following year, we supported the Paul Dubrule Tennis Cup 2022, helping raise funds for École Paul Dubrule’s ongoing mission to educate and empower young Cambodians.

By 2024, our partnership network expanded even further. We welcomed PSE students for in-depth learning visits, met with the team at Project Khmer H.O.P.E to support their training initiatives, and joined the Sala Bai Open Career Fair, offering career counseling to guide students toward fulfilling futures in hospitality.

Most recently, in 2025, we proudly congratulated 18 students from PSE, Paul Dubrule, and Spoon Cambodia for completing their internships and apprenticeships with us — several of whom have since become part of our Sofitel family.

Each success story is a reflection of our belief in nurturing talent and creating opportunities that inspire lifelong growth. As we continue this journey, Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra remains devoted to supporting education, developing the leaders of tomorrow, and enriching Cambodia’s hospitality landscape with passion, purpose, and care.
