Discover Melody Chivit, a new exhibition by Cambodian artist Im Pesey, now showing at The Gallery by Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.
Born in Prey Veng and now based in Phnom Penh, Im Pesey paints with a deep connection to Cambodian culture, nature, and daily life. His journey began in childhood, inspired by temple murals near his home, and continued through formal studies at the Royal University of Fine Arts and the Royal Academy of Cambodia.
Over the years, his work has been exhibited across Asia, from Japan and South Korea to Vietnam and India. His paintings are known for their soft tones and calming presence, offering a quiet space for reflection.
Im Pesey believes art is a source of peace. Each painting invites viewers to slow down, reconnect, and find moments of stillness through simple, beautiful scenes drawn from life.
